Chinese New Year

This week in Foundation we have been celebrating Chinese New Year. This year is the Year of the Ox. Those born in the Year of the Ox are said to be determined, strong and conservative. We learnt about how they prepare for and celebrate Chinese New Year. We also listened to the story of 'The Runaway Wok' and watched a video about how the animals of the Chinese Zodiac decided who would have which year named after them. The children both at home and in school have been very busy making lanterns, dragons, painting Chinese symbols and trying some Chinese food. Take a look at the photographs to see what we have been up to!
