Mr Mantell, Miss Langton, Mrs Gallacher, Mrs Chambers and Mrs Dickens all welcome you to the Foundation Team page.

This term our theme is: 'Are we nearly there yet' 

During this term, the children will play with different types of transport including toy cars, trains and aeroplanes. The children will look at different forms of transport from the past including toys. The children will order the photographs in chronological order.  

We will go on different journeys either by foot, car, bike or bus. We will look out for different types of vehicles, road signs, road markings, crossings and cycle paths. We will take digital photographs of the whole journey from beginning to end! For one day we will ask the children to come to school on their bikes, scooters or skateboards.  

We will undertake a vehicle survey outside school taking photographs of the vehicles, keeping a tally and then making a display of our results showing how many of each type of vehicle we saw.  

How can you help your child at home?

Why not visit your local library together to read lots of different non-fiction books about different types of vehicles and toys from the past. Keep an eye on our weekly Sway newsletters which will give you weekly ideas, on how best to support your child at home.

We will be using Tapestry to keep you up to date with all the fun we are having and all of our learning!
